Boudoir sessions are all about Pampering yourself, loving yourself, and seeing yourself in a whole new light!

It’s exciting and nerve wrecking at the same time, am I right?! Well don’t worry, I got you covered. I’m excited to share a checklist for your day of bag and an quick overview of how to prepare for your session. This is all based on my experience getting my own pictures done, see? I've been there! Ready to have fun? (champagne and charcuterie anyone?)

What to bring in your bag:

1. 1-2 Outfits (maybe more ;) )

Outfits can be hard to narrow down! Bring your favs and allow me to narrow them down based on what will photograph best.

2. Accessories

This is an area where less is truly more. Simple jewelry, tights, oversized sweaters, button-down shirt, veil, robe, & any additional accessories you may like!

3. Lotion

Moisturizing is always a great idea!

One Month before

1. Start looking for your perfect boudoir outfits.

Look through your closet for your favorite pieces you already own, and look around at your favorite brands. My favorites are Adore Me, Victoria's Secret and Target. I'm a sucker for simple bra and panty sets.

2. Go shopping!

Ask a girlfriend to join you and help you find pieces you not only look good in, but feel good in! Think outside the box and don’t be afraid to try something that’s a little out of your comfort zone. You never know, you could love a new piece! Or order a few pieces online and narrow it down from there!

3. Choose 2-3 outfits

Narrow down your choices, and let your personality shine!

4. Think Beyond the Shoot

Think about how you want to preserve your photos. An album and prints are my favorite way to show off my boudoir photos!

5. Eat healthy, drink plenty of water & moisturize!

Keep that skin looking its best! Start trying to cut down on processed, overly salty and sugary foods. Drink plenty of water to keep bloat at a minimum. And moisturize that skin, get it ready for close ups!

6. Get your hair cut

If you're anything like me, and only get your hair cut once in a blue moon......get scheduled for a trim. Getting it trimmed 2-4 weeks before, lets your hair not look too freshly cut and natural for photos!

One week before

1. Wax, thread, shave, moisturize

Get your eyebrows, legs, arm pits looking their best!

2. Get your nails done

Or do them yourself, or have a girls night and trade services with a friend. But, detail shots may include feet and hands ;) Neutral colors are best <3

3. Avoid fake tans

Self tanners and lotions can leave an orange tint that is hard to work around. Tanning beds are good, if you avoid tan lines (undressing all the way) (BUT some people are into tan lines....so, whatever floats your boat!)

The day before

1. Remove tags from your outfit(s)

2. Avoid alcohol and drink plenty of water to hydrate your skin!

3. Moisturize your skin. Use your favorite lotion everywhere!

4. Pack your bag the night before to ensure the essentials aren’t forgotten.

5. Double check your list, relax, and get ready to have some fun!

The day of

1. Shave everywhere!

2. Moisturize your entire body!

3. Wear loose fitting clothing and undergarments to avoid impressions on the skin.

4. Eat a light meal, that way you are not bloated. I will have charcuterie and champagne (or non-alcoholic bubbly) to snack on before (and even during)!

5. Get your hair and makeup done, or do it yourself! I loved having mine professionally done, for my photos. One less thing to stress about.

6. Allow plenty of time to arrive a few minutes early. You’ll feel at ease and ready to have fun!
